Rio de Janeiro, Brazil -- There may have been an important derby on the field Sunday, but from where I was sitting, all eyes were on Brazilian star Ronaldinho.
I had the pleasure to sit just in front of the famous midfielder, who recently signed a contract with Fluminense. And while he watched on as his new club ended up losing to Vasco da Gama, 2-1, at the Maracana, many fans could not help but be ecstatic.
Media personal surrounded Ronaldinho throughout the whole match, and SporTV even conducted an interview with the former FC Barcelona magician. And although there was an important rivalry game being played on the field, one TV camera always had its eye on Ronaldinho.

For the most part, Ronaldinho was all smiles, signing jerseys and taking pictures with a majority of fans who approached. And a majority of the fans were all smiles as well, yelling out his name and taking pictures from afar.
After an extensive career, the 35-year-old legend, who was named the FIFA World Player of the Year twice, is ready to lace up once more, and I was lucky enough to see him in the flesh.
